Orthotist - Per Diem - Central Region

We are seeking a skilled Orthotist to join our team in the Central Region. As an Orthotist, you will be responsible for evaluating, measuring, casting, designing, and fitting custom-made lower extremity, upper extremity, and spinal orthoses. You will also measure, fit, and adjust prefabricated orthoses.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patient conditions and determine necessary treatments.
- Elicit patient interpretations of their current situations and expected outcomes for the orthosis.
- Communicate with prescribing physicians to clarify expectations for the orthosis and detail design options available to achieve desired outcomes.
- Formulate comprehensive treatment plans based on input from prescribing physicians, patients, and other rehabilitation team members.
- Discuss treatment plans with all involved parties.
- Select appropriate prefabricated orthoses or design custom orthoses to provide prescribed outcomes and alleviate patient limitations.
- Measure and cast patients.
- Correct and modify positive molds and provide complete design specifications for the orthosis to the central fabrication lab.
- Fits patients with completed orthoses.
- Adjusts orthoses as necessary to achieve optimal function.
- Provides instruction to patients and families on proper use and care of the orthosis.
- Provides follow-up care after fitting to ensure successful treatment outcomes.
- Documents all patient contacts according to established departmental and hospital procedures.
- Troubleshoots, repairs, and adjusts orthoses as required.
This role will be performed in a clinical environment. You will be accountable for satisfying all job-specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
