Petroleum Supply Specialist

As a member of the Army National Guard, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our fuel supply chain. In this position, you will be responsible for the receipt, storage, and shipment of petroleum-based products, including oil, fuel, and compressed gas. Your duties will include supervising and managing the reception, storage, and shipping of bulk or packaged petroleum products, operating specialized pumping equipment, and performing petroleum and water accounting activities. You will also be responsible for testing petroleum samples for contamination and repairing specialized equipment. As you gain experience, you will take on additional responsibilities, including supervising and training other Soldiers, assigning duties, and ensuring adherence to safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and stock bulk and packaged products
  • Issue and dispense bulk fuels and water from storage and distribution facilities to using units

Through your training, you will develop the skills and experience to enjoy a civilian career with oil refineries, pipeline companies, and tanker truck and ship lines. The Army National Guard offers a unique opportunity to earn a regular paycheck while learning valuable job skills. You will attend 10 weeks of Basic Training and 11 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, which includes a combination of hands-on and classroom training.
