Position Overview:

The Retail Operations and Sales Associate at Lumber Liquidators plays a crucial role in assisting the store manager and assistant managers with daily sales activities, store operations, and the overall maintenance of the store and warehouse.

This entry-level position emphasizes collaboration with the team to meet or surpass the store's sales objectives while performing various warehouse responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Foster a welcoming and respectful store environment, ensuring that all associates deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Drive sales by actively engaging in all aspects of the company's sales processes and supporting related services (e.g., Credit, Delivery, Pro Sales, and Installations).
  • Exhibit thorough product knowledge and a solid understanding of operational procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records in the SAP system, including updates on pickups, follow-ups, comments, and issues.
  • Achieve personal and collective sales targets and operational metrics.
  • Assist in maintaining the showroom and warehouse in an organized manner.
  • Safely operate a forklift for material handling (training provided).
  • Organize and stack product pallets securely.
  • Track inventory of incoming and outgoing merchandise.
  • Comply with OSHA regulations.
  • Accurately load merchandise into customer vehicles and company delivery trucks.
  • Ensure a clean and orderly warehouse and store environment.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and product handling requirements.
  • Receive merchandise shipments accurately and prepare outbound deliveries.
  • Engage in proactive selling, including making outbound sales calls to customers and professionals.

Qualifications:
  • A strong commitment to customer service and a desire for career growth within the company.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles, such as sales, retail, or hospitality.
  • A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • An interest in home improvement and flooring design.
  • Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to initiate conversations.
  • Capability to lift heavy items occasionally.
  • Willingness to learn and operate a forklift (training will be provided).
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and extended hours when necessary.
