Job Title: Dental Hygienist

Baltimore County, MD is seeking a skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in promoting oral health and preventing dental diseases in our community.

Job Summary:

The Dental Hygienist will work under the supervision of a licensed dentist to provide dental hygiene services to patients. This includes performing preliminary dental examinations, recording findings, and providing initial reviews of patient medical records. The successful candidate will also be responsible for performing prophylactic and preventive treatments, setting up and closing out clinic rooms, taking radiographs, and maintaining dental records and charts.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform preliminary dental examinations and record findings
  • Provide initial reviews of patient medical records
  • Perform prophylactic and preventive treatments
  • Set up and close out clinic rooms
  • Take radiographs and maintain dental records and charts
  • Provide oral hygiene instruction to patients
  • Assist in presenting oral hygiene instruction to groups
Requirements:
  • Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association with an associate in arts degree in dental hygiene
  • Two years' experience in direct dental patient care
  • Possession of a valid license to practice dental hygiene issued by the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners
  • Possession of an approved CPR certification
  • Possession of a valid driver's license equivalent to a noncommercial, class C Maryland driver's license
Working Conditions:

The work of this classification includes the performance of physical activities such as walking, standing, bending, and the operation of dental instruments. Incumbents may be required to travel to sites throughout Baltimore County. Duties may expose incumbents to various bio-medical hazards.
