Job Summary

As an MRI Technologist at UNC Health Care, you will play a critical role in acquiring and analyzing patient diagnostic data using MRI equipment. This position requires a strong understanding of MRI technology and cross-sectional human anatomy, as well as excellent patient identification and safety skills.

Responsibilities
  1. Patient Identification
    Verify patient identification, obtain patient history, and ensure patient safety. Administer oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients according to protocols.
  2. MRI Technology
    Operate MRI scanners, proficient in automatic injections of MRI contrast, and maintain active status with ARRT or ARMRIT by accruing CE's when needed.
  3. Image Transfer
    Transmit images to QC, UNCH's EMR, EPIC, and PACS, verify and segment images at the QC station, and complete, modify, and/or cancel orders in an appropriate and timely manner.
  4. Other Duties
    Perform tasks in a timely manner, run the schedule creating a consistent workflow, and volunteer to work on challenging tasks, difficult procedures, and new research.
Qualifications

Education Requirements:
Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science or completion within 3 months at time of application.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences, American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists, or registry eligible. Requires advanced certification in MR within one year of employment.

Professional Experience Requirements:
Prior education, training, and experience that provides the ability to perform the assigned tasks.

Work Schedule: Day Job, Open to 12-hour shifts. On-call 8am-12pm on Sat and Sun. Flexibility with the work hours.
