Key Responsibilities:
As a Components Engineer, you will provide essential support in the analysis of component selection for new designs while addressing potential issues related to Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS).
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading Components Engineering initiatives focusing on obsolescence management, standardization, and the definition of engineering data.
- Preparing part standards and overseeing procurement control requirements.
- Resolving quality issues and implementing process improvements.
- Acting as a liaison among part vendors, procurement teams, LM customers, and subcontractors.
Additional activities will involve:
- Addressing obsolescence challenges and counterfeit avoidance.
- Generating comprehensive customer reports and facilitating part substitutions.
- Conducting second source part qualifications and preparing specifications for part procurement.
- Resolving issues related to both development and production parts.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in the manufacturing processes of electrical components and analysis of their physical properties.
- In-depth knowledge of electronic components and devices, whether at the integrated circuit or discrete level.
- Experience with the release and qualification of new components.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with DMSMS.
- Experience in addressing component-related failure issues, including pure tin challenges and counterfeit part detection.
Education:
Applicants must possess an accredited High School Diploma or GED.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position with a 4/10 work schedule on the first shift.
Additional Information:
Candidates for this position will undergo a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to access classified government information.
