Medical Assistant Job Description

This is a Full Time, Day Shift, Medical Assistant position supporting our Northwest Urgent Care

Performs patient care activities under the supervision of a provider. Assists providers with medical procedures and office administrative processes as required.

Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements
  • Education:
  • Required: High School diploma/GED, and graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program
  • Note: If hired prior to 4/1/2021, equivalent experience is allowed in lieu of HS diploma/GED
  • Experience:
  • Preferred: Six (6) months experience in a medical practice setting or completion of externship program at NH
  • Licenses/Certifications:
  • Required: American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross(ARC) or American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) BLS certification

With a cath lab, 24/7 emergency care at our emergency department and Northwest Emergency Center at Vail, ICU (medical/surgical and telemetry), full lab and radiology services and four operating rooms supporting a broad array of specialties, Northwest Medical Center Houghton holds plenty of opportunity for applicants.
