Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech/Language Pathologist to join our team at Coarc. As a Speech/Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in helping our students develop essential communication skills.

About Coarc

Coarc is a unique preschool daycare that offers a supportive environment for children with special needs. Our team includes experienced professionals who are dedicated to providing high-quality care and education to our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide screenings, individual or group speech and language therapy, and annual assessments to children enrolled in special education services.
  • Make recommendations for individual or group speech and language therapy, communication goals, and communication enhancing methodologies to be incorporated by program staff.
  • Provide direction and oversight to program staff involved in providing communication skills training.
  • Perform data collection procedures and report writing in accordance with program policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and consult with other program staff in the area of communication.
  • Participate as a member of the Child Study Team and as the Classroom Team for each child on the caseload.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to ensure that communication objectives are incorporated into each child's daily activities.
  • Encourage parent participation and provide training as needed or requested.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions or programs as required to meet regulatory and Agency requirements.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a field related to Speech and Language Pathology.
  • New York State Education Department (NYSED) Speech Language Pathologist License.
  • One year of prior experience working with special education children.
  • Exceptional written, communication, and computer skills.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Ability to be certified in all required trainings.
