Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret project plans, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements.
  • Assemble metal components, including steel frames, columns, beams, and girders.
  • Unload and position prefabricated steel units for hoisting as required.
  • Utilize cranes or direct hoisting equipment operators to position structural steel members accurately.
  • Fabricate steel pieces using metal shears, torches, or welding equipment.
  • Align structural-steel members for permanent bolting.
  • Install metal or insulated panels for walls and roofs.
  • Deconstruct structures or equipment as necessary.
  • Commit to maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols.
  • Operate scissor lifts, boom lifts, and telehandlers safely.
  • Conduct maintenance and repairs on existing steel frameworks and structures.
  • Ensure a tidy job site through regular clean-up activities.

Qualifications:

  • Punctuality and readiness to work at scheduled times.
  • Consistent attendance for 8-10 hour shifts, Monday through Friday.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of steel structures and metal building assembly.
  • Proficient in the use of scissor lifts, boom lifts, and telehandlers.
  • Expertise in rigging and lifting materials safely.
  • Understanding of construction risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to innovate and solve complex technical issues.
  • Positive attitude towards project challenges.
  • Effective time management and decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong work ethic, resilience under pressure, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Physical, mental, and emotional fitness for the role.
  • Ability to identify and address safety hazards.
