The work involves various locations, focusing on steel assembly and installation. Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret project plans, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements.
- Assemble metal components, including steel frames, columns, beams, and girders.
- Unload and position prefabricated steel units for hoisting as required.
- Utilize cranes or direct hoisting equipment operators to position structural steel members accurately.
- Fabricate steel pieces using metal shears, torches, or welding equipment.
- Align structural-steel members for permanent bolting.
- Install metal or insulated panels for walls and roofs.
- Deconstruct structures or equipment as necessary.
- Commit to maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols.
- Operate scissor lifts, boom lifts, and telehandlers safely.
- Conduct maintenance and repairs on existing steel frameworks and structures.
- Ensure a tidy job site through regular clean-up activities.
Qualifications:
- Punctuality and readiness to work at scheduled times.
- Consistent attendance for 8-10 hour shifts, Monday through Friday.
- Comprehensive knowledge of steel structures and metal building assembly.
- Proficient in the use of scissor lifts, boom lifts, and telehandlers.
- Expertise in rigging and lifting materials safely.
- Understanding of construction risks and mitigation strategies.
- Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications.
- Self-motivated with a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Critical thinking skills with the ability to innovate and solve complex technical issues.
- Positive attitude towards project challenges.
- Effective time management and decision-making capabilities.
- Strong work ethic, resilience under pressure, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Physical, mental, and emotional fitness for the role.
- Ability to identify and address safety hazards.
- Team-oriented with leadership capabilities.
- OSHA 10-hour certification preferred.
