Position Overview:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in our outpatient department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality nursing care and patient education to a diverse patient population. This position is integral to our Women's Care team, focusing on providing compassionate and effective care in an ambulatory setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Care: Conduct thorough assessments of patient needs, including taking vital signs and gathering medical histories. Assist in triage, admissions, transfers, and discharges while developing individualized patient care goals.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications, including IV medications as per established protocols, and monitor patient responses while documenting all clinical findings accurately.
  • Treatment and Support: Perform nursing-level treatments, assist medical staff during complex procedures, and follow up on diagnostic results to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Training and Orientation: Mentor new staff members, participate in patient care conferences, and engage in quality assurance initiatives to uphold the highest standards of care.
  • Emergency Response: Be prepared to implement emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in patients, ensuring a safe environment for all.
  • Patient Safety: Adhere to and promote patient safety protocols, proactively identifying and addressing potential risks to enhance the overall safety of our patients.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited LPN program.
  • Experience: No minimum experience required; bilingual candidates in English and Spanish are encouraged to apply.
  • Licensure: Current Licensed Practical Nurse license in New Mexico or a reciprocal agreement.
  • Certifications: CPR for Healthcare Providers or Professional Rescuers must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Physical Requirements:
This role involves heavy physical demands, including lifting and moving patients and equipment. Candidates should be prepared to exert significant force as required.

Working Environment:
Be aware of potential exposure to hazardous materials and the necessity of personal protective equipment (PPE) in certain situations. This position requires adherence to all safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment.
