Position Overview:

  • UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals is seeking a skilled Upper Extremity and Hand Reconstruction Surgeon for an academic role at the Assistant or Associate level.
  • The preferred candidate will be a board-certified or eligible orthopedic surgeon with specialized training in hand fellowship, focusing on upper extremity reconstruction and microvascular tissue transfer.
  • Experience in secondary trauma or shoulder elbow fellowship is advantageous but not a requirement.
  • Key responsibilities encompass diagnostic and interventional management for a variety of musculoskeletal conditions in adult patients, particularly in trauma reconstruction.
  • The chosen candidate will engage in research activities leading to publications, alongside teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows in trauma and hand surgery.
  • This role is associated with major medical facilities.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid medical license in California
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
  • Completion of an ACGME accredited Orthopedic Residency program
  • Completion of an ACGME accredited Hand Fellowship
  • Board certification or eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Submission of current and/or pending qualifications with application materials
