Job Title: Cardiac Cath Lab Travel Nurse

DT-Healthcare Staffing is seeking a skilled Cardiac Cath Lab Travel Nurse to join our team in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Job Summary:

As a Cardiac Cath Lab Travel Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients undergoing invasive cardiac catheterization and/or peripheral catheterization procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care before, during, and after procedures.
  • Assist physicians with adult catheterization procedures, percutaneous transluminal coronary interventions, myocardial biopsy, temporary pacemaker insertion, pericardiocentesis, Swan-Ganz insertion, intra-aortic balloon pump insertion, and other associated procedures.
  • Record, monitor, and assess hemodynamic data collected during catheterizations.
  • Complete patient records accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Establish and maintain rapport with patients throughout procedures.
  • Continuously monitor patients' physiologic and psychological status throughout procedures.
  • Initiate and maintain IV access.
  • Administer ordered medications, intravenous drips, and emergency medications before, during, and after procedures.
  • Operate specialized equipment used in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Respond appropriately to emergency situations within the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.
  • Initiate life support techniques in the event of a cardiac and respiratory arrest, including CPR, drug administration, defibrillation, temporary pacemaker insertion, intra-aortic balloon pump insertion, and airway management.
  • Assess patients for complications related to medications or procedures and respond appropriately.
  • Discontinue arterial and venous access safely through the use of manual compression or available compression devices.
  • Assist physicians with the use of invasive closure devices.

Requirements:

  • Current RN licensure in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Experience in Cardiac Cath Lab or related field.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

On-Call Requirements:

  • On-call for Level 1 Heart Attack Program (L1HAP): Rotation of 2 to 3 nights per week and every 3rd weekend.
