About the Position

We are seeking a dedicated Income Tax Analyst who will report directly to the Tax Manager. This role is primarily focused on ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, conducting research, managing month-end close activities, and engaging in various projects and related tasks. The objective of this position is to guarantee that all income tax responsibilities are fulfilled promptly and in alignment with established policies and procedures, while keeping the tax management team informed of ongoing activities and any significant challenges encountered.

Essential Qualifications for Success:

  • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in income tax.
  • In-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting; CPA eligibility or CPA designation preferred.
  • Familiarity with income tax compliance and state tax matters.
  • Strong skills in research, accounting ledgers, and reconciliation.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities, attention to detail, and capacity to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills; a collaborative team player.
  • Detail-oriented with robust time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in all tasks performed.
  • Capability to multitask, exercise independent judgment, and make sound decisions while working autonomously.
  • Proficiency in One Source Income Tax is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Oracle ERP Cloud is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing, analyzing, and reconciling federal and state tax return filings along with supporting documentation. This includes gathering and analyzing financial data to efficiently generate tax returns while maintaining comprehensive work papers and files that provide a clear audit trail.
  • Preparing federal, state, and local tax returns, extensions, and quarterly estimated tax payments for the corporate entity and its subsidiaries.
  • Maintaining a tax calendar to ensure timely filing of all tax returns and payments.
  • Conducting reconciliations on tax general ledger accounts to verify account balances.
  • Addressing and resolving notices and assessments from tax authorities, including negotiating minimum payouts and preparing necessary responses, protests, and appeals.
  • Evaluating new tax laws, regulations, reporting requirements, and court rulings, and implementing those that affect tax compliance.
  • Performing additional tasks, duties, and special projects as required.
  • Proposing process enhancements to improve efficiency.
