ROLE SUMMARY:

The Custodial Services Associate is **tasked** with a variety of responsibilities including cleaning, sweeping, scrubbing, and mopping. This position **ensures** the maintenance of cleanliness and safety standards in facilities for Atlanta Public Schools. The role **reports** directly to the designated supervisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conducts routine inspections of buildings to **spot** areas requiring attention.
  • Informs the Maintenance Supervisor without delay.
  • Performs cleaning tasks in outdoor areas.
  • Disinfects and cleans carpets and restrooms according to **set** protocols.
  • Opens and secures facilities, including activating the security system.
  • Receives and **organizes** custodial supplies.
  • Dusts surfaces, including furniture and window ledges.
  • Assists in preparing facilities for special occasions.
  • Moves equipment and furniture as necessary.
  • Ensures proper cleaning of floors, including mopping, waxing, and stripping.
  • Maintains custodial equipment, **confirming** it is in optimal working order.
  • Collects and empties trash receptacles as required.
  • Restocks restrooms with necessary supplies and replaces light bulbs and ceiling tiles.
  • Cleans windows on lower levels and interior/exterior doors.
  • Operates cleaning machines while assisting in equipment upkeep.
  • Supports site or operations managers with basic maintenance tasks.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience: 0-1 year of relevant experience.
  • Certifications/Licenses: Not applicable.
