Job Summary:

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a dedicated and experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our team in a travel position. As a key member of our surgical services team, you will play a vital role in supporting surgical procedures and ensuring a sterile environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform scrub and/or circulating duties during surgical procedures, maintaining aseptic technique to guarantee patient safety.
  • Oversee department admissions to the operative suite, ensuring seamless coordination with surgical teams.
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, manage anesthesia, and assist with surgical site preparation, adhering to safety protocols and infection control guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all surgical activities and patient records, utilizing electronic medical records systems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in various surgical specialties, including orthopedics, general surgery, plastics, and more.
  • Utilize skills in DaVinci robotic surgery for two specialties, staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in surgical technology.
  • Deliver exceptional patient care, prioritizing patient safety and satisfaction while working in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.

Requirements:

  • Valid RN license in the state of Vermont.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience working as an OR RN, with a strong background in perioperative nursing principles and practices.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications required.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, with flexibility to adapt to changing surgical schedules.
