FMS Automation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled FMS Test Automation Engineer to join our team in New York. As a key member of our testing team, you will play a critical role in developing and executing automated test scripts for the City's Web-based Financial Management System (FMS).
Job OverviewThe primary responsibility of this position is to develop and execute reusable automated test scripts for the functional testing of various work streams, applications, or builds that comprise the City's FMS. This includes collaborating with business analysts to document testable user requirements, working closely with the FMS Functional Test Leads to develop automated test scripts, and interacting with different City and Vendor staff assigned to the FMS/3 Project.
About the RoleAs an FMS Test Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and deploying a reusable test automation framework, developing and executing automated test scripts, maintenance routines, and assisting in problem analysis and resolution. You will also identify opportunities for test automation of existing manual application/functional regression test suites, document pre-conditions required to setup and run the automated test scripts, and maintain the Requirements Traceability Matrix using HP ALM.
Requirements and QualificationsTo succeed in this role, you will need hands-on experience in software quality assurance/testing methodologies and practices, knowledge of HP ALM/Quality Center and Unified Functional Tester, strong understanding of financial management concepts, and proficiency in running back-end/database queries for data set-up and verification. Additionally, you should have excellent English language written and verbal communication skills, a minimum 10 years of experience writing test plans, outlines, and detailed test cases for accounting and/or budget ERP Systems, and at least 5 years of hands-on testing experience in complex applications in Mainframe and Web-based environments.
You must have a BA in MIS, Computer Science, or related field from a recognized college or university. Additional benefits such as prescription drug coverage, dental benefits, and vision care benefits are also available.
The estimated salary for this position is around $120,000 per year, based on industry standards and the cost of living in New York.
