Early Childhood Education Specialist

Port Washington Children's Center, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Early Childhood Toddler Lead Teachers to join our team of dedicated professionals in providing exceptional education and care for young children. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in early childhood education, with a focus on fostering a nurturing environment that encourages exploration and learning.
Salary and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary of $26.00 - $30.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and education. Our comprehensive benefits package includes generous PTO policy, 100% employer-paid health insurance, disability and leave coverage, and a 401K plan with matching contributions.
Job Responsibilities
As an Early Childhood Toddler Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans that cater to the developmental needs of toddlers. This will involve creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning. You will also monitor and assess children's progress in various areas, including social, emotional, and cognitive development. Additionally, you will utilize Montessori principles to enhance learning experiences and promote independence among students. Effective communication with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and any concerns related to child welfare is essential. Collaboration with other educators to create a cohesive learning experience across the curriculum is also required. Providing individualized tutoring support as needed to help children reach their developmental milestones and managing classroom behavior through positive reinforcement strategies are critical aspects of this role.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. Proven experience in childcare or early childhood education, preferably in a private school setting, is essential. A strong understanding of childhood development theories and practices is also required. Familiarity with Montessori methods is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues are necessary. Ability to manage classroom behavior positively while fostering an encouraging atmosphere for learning is critical. Knowledge of literacy education strategies to promote early reading skills among young children is also required. A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their growth in all areas of development is essential.
