Position Overview:

The Full-Time Sales Associate in the Plumbing & Electrical Department is essential in managing the receipt, organization, and pricing of products, alongside delivering exceptional customer service. Your contributions will help maintain an organized merchandise display and an overall inviting store atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

Primary Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Additional tasks may be assigned.

Customer Interaction:

  • Act as a positive representative for Nyberg's ACE.
  • Proactively assist customers in overcoming challenges.
  • Greet customers warmly upon their arrival and throughout their shopping experience.
  • Maintain a friendly and approachable attitude, building strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to pages and calls.
  • Refer any customer issues that require management attention.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of products and store layout.
  • Provide personalized assistance to customers throughout the store, ensuring an exceptional experience.

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Foster a workplace culture characterized by positivity, professionalism, and safety.
  • Assist with the reception, verification, and stocking of merchandise throughout the store.
  • Help maintain appropriate inventory levels in the back stock area.
  • Contribute to the cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, stockroom, and outdoor merchandise areas.
  • Support the presentation of a well-organized sales floor, including end caps and promotional displays.
  • Participate in merchandise resets across the store.
  • Assist Department Specialists with tasks such as price adjustments and special order processing.
  • Ensure all signage throughout the store is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Operate a forklift safely, following all training and safety protocols.
  • Report any Store Support Center issues to Store Leaders for necessary follow-up.
  • Contribute innovative ideas for merchandising, cost control, or sales enhancement to the Merchandising team and/or Store Leaders.
  • Engage in store meetings to promote effective communication and teamwork.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Complete any other assigned duties with commitment and care.

Education and Training:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.

Experience:

  • Prior retail experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of plumbing and electrical products is highly beneficial.

Physical Requirements:

  • This role involves standing, walking, lifting (up to 40 lbs.), and occasional climbing.
