Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aircraft Maintenance Operations Lead to join our team at General Dynamics. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating all tasks within the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul shops.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Coordination: Under general supervision from management, plan and coordinate all tasks as assigned within the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul shops and provide daily status reports to management as necessary.
  • Scheduling and Manpower Management: Schedule tasks, assign manpower, and work across business units to solve problems and resolve discrepancies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure completion of applicable forms and records necessary for compliance with Repair Station regulatory requirements and Corporate Standards.
  • Training and Development: Arrange technical training as required and ensure applicable PQL qualifications are kept current for subordinates.
  • Performance Management: Provide input to performance appraisals to area management for review.
  • Process Improvement: Apply 6S and Lean Initiatives to ensure shops are meeting production requirements, work areas remain clean, uncluttered, and safe.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and instruct shop personnel in proper procedures and techniques.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Ensure all work performed by assigned team complies with all required documentation including Component Maintenance Manuals, drawings, blueprints, Computerized Maintenance Procedures, and all other applicable required documentation.
  • Environmental Health and Safety: Ensure assigned team complies with all company and legislative environmental health and safety regulations.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and resolve gaps within processes to ensure continuity of operations within the framework of repair station requirements.
Requirements
  • Leadership and Communication: Must have demonstrated leadership ability and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Technical Expertise: Ability to read and interpret all required maintenance and regulatory documents.
  • Operational Knowledge: Must demonstrate expertise in operating all tools, test equipment, and/or material handling equipment relevant to the area or responsibility.
  • Problem-Solving: Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
