Job Overview

Westat is seeking a skilled Bilingual Assessor to work on the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study, Kindergarten Class of 2024 (ECLS-K:2024). This study provides comprehensive data about children's learning and development, transition into kindergarten, and progress through elementary school. As a key member of our team, you will conduct in-person child assessments at schools or participant's homes and telephone or in-person parent interviews in both English and Spanish.

The ideal candidate will have strong reading, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as experience working with children and/or in a school setting. You will be responsible for collecting data in a standardized manner, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the confidentiality of project information.

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $22-$28 per hour, depending on your qualifications and experience. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work on a fascinating and rewarding project that can contribute to meaningful insights about childhood development.

As a Bilingual Assessor, you will be required to travel locally for project work and must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and basic computer skills. We provide training on Westat language assessment protocols for Spanish and ensure that all staff members are equipped with the necessary tools and resources to perform their duties effectively.
