Job SummaryAs a Property Claims Adjuster at Erie Insurance, you will be responsible for handling property claims within designated authority. This includes conducting investigations, interviewing insureds and witnesses, inspecting damage, and preparing estimates. You will also evaluate and make recommendations regarding coverage of claims, handle property claims within designated authority, and set and maintain adequate reserves. Additionally, you will obtain and review reports, statements, records, and related materials as required, and evaluate information to determine coverage and total value of claim. You will determine payments and issue checks or decline payment as required, document claim files, and submit final reports to file for closure. You will also identify subrogation situations and initiate appropriate action, service assigned territory, and bring assigned claims to conclusion. You will interact with agents and district sales managers on matters of mutual concern, handle property claims involving damages or coverage, and may handle litigated claims, including negotiating with plaintiff attorneys or coordinating litigation with defense counsel as required. You will develop and apply a working knowledge of estimating practices and procedures relating to the adjustment of property claims, attend industry-related training programs, and attend other training sessions to stay current on policy changes, interpretation, or new legislation. You will successfully complete Technical Learning Center Training within one year of hire date, and participate on Catastrophe Team when required.

Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED and two years of claims handling experience, or equivalent required
• High School Diploma or GED and successful completion of ERIE sponsored formal education, or
• Bachelor's Degree required
• Willingness to pursue and complete Technical Learning Center Training required
• Successful completion of AIC 33 and AIC 35 preferred
• Willingness to obtain and maintain any required licenses
• Valid driver's license and good driving record required
