Key Responsibilities:
  • Vulnerability Assessment:
    Conduct regular assessments of vulnerabilities across all IT assets utilizing industry-standard tools. Analyze and prioritize vulnerabilities based on risk, impact, and exploitability, and work with various teams to ensure timely remediation.
  • Operating System Patching:
    Assist in managing the patching process for Windows Server and Redhat Linux systems. Develop and implement effective patch management strategies while minimizing disruption to business operations. Track and report on compliance across the organization.
  • End of Life Software Management:
    Identify and monitor software nearing or past its end of service life. Collaborate with application owners and IT teams to plan and execute upgrades or replacements of outdated software, ensuring compliance with security standards.
  • Security Monitoring:
    Monitor security alerts and incidents related to vulnerabilities and patch management. Support investigations and responses to security incidents involving unpatched systems or outdated software, providing recommendations to enhance security posture.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    Maintain comprehensive documentation of vulnerability assessments, patch management activities, and software remediation efforts. Generate reports for management, detailing the status of vulnerabilities and compliance efforts.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH) are advantageous.
  • Experience: Some experience or internships in vulnerability management, operating system patching, or software lifecycle management. Familiarity with vulnerability management tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys, Rapid7) is beneficial.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills for conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
