Job Summary:


We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team at Generac Power Systems. As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for performing assembly tasks to manufacture products in a cost-effective and timely manner while meeting quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Validate material prior to beginning assembly, review work instructions, and build product per specifications and within tolerances.
  • Complete all clean-up and housekeeping procedures, comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations, including wearing all appropriate PPE.
  • Train other employees and participate in continuous improvement programs and problem-solving production-related concerns.
  • Resolve problems with assistance from peers or supervisors, depending on the level and complexity.
  • Access information needed within the ERP system, contribute to improving processes, lead times, throughput, and cost.
  • Perform transactions as needed within the ERP system, lead team meetings, and exchange job-related information.
  • Solve problems independently within designated authority levels.

Requirements:



  • High school diploma or equivalent required, manufacturing experience and knowledge of manufacturing processes preferred.
  • Ability to perform basic assembly tasks, read, write, and perform math functions.
  • Intermediate computer knowledge, such as using electronic work instructions.
  • Ability to understand and execute standard procedures, interpret visual diagrams, and use advanced tooling.
  • Ability to problem-solve with minimal guidance.

Working Conditions:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, use hands to manipulate objects or controls, stand, and walk. On occasion, the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25-50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
