Critical Care Emergency Nurse

Job Details- Estimated Salary: $175,000 per year (based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week)
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department provides high-quality patient care to individuals with urgent or emergent conditions. This fast-paced environment demands attention to detail and rapid decision-making skills.
Key Responsibilities- Triage and Patient Assessment:
- Evaluate patient history, conduct physical assessments, and identify potential health issues to prioritize care.
- Collect vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature, to determine immediate care needs.
- Emergency Care and Treatment:
- Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as prescribed, including IV fluids and antibiotics.
- Perform wound care, splinting, and suturing as needed for trauma patients.
- Provide life-saving interventions, such as CPR and advanced cardiac life support.
- Collaboration with Medical Team:
- Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other team members to develop patient care plans.
- Assist with diagnostic testing, such as lab work and imaging.
- Communicate clearly with the healthcare team about patient status and care options.
- Monitoring and Documentation:
- Continuously monitor patients' conditions, noting changes in vital signs and symptoms.
- Document all patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes accurately.
- Patient Communication:
- Explain diagnoses, procedures, and treatment plans to patients and their families.
- Offer emotional support to patients experiencing stress or anxiety.
- Infection Control and Safety:
- Follow strict infection control protocols to prevent the spread of diseases.
- Ensure the ER environment remains safe and sterile for patients and staff.
- Crisis Management:
- Handle emergency situations effectively using critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Manage high-stress situations while providing life-saving interventions.
- Teamwork and Mentorship:
- Collaborate with ER staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Act as a mentor or preceptor for new nurses and students.
