Job Summary

The Occupational Therapy Assistant performs services planned, delegated and is supervised by the Occupational Therapist. Assists patients to prevent disability and aims toward the promotion of maximal patient and caregiver participation and responsibility for the recovery program following disease, injury, surgery or loss of a body part.

This position will provide treatments to patients in the TMC and Hinshaw Towers. The successful candidate will be scheduled to work weekends, holidays, and during high census on an as needed basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide care according to Occupational Therapy Department policies and procedures.
  • Apply treatment techniques in accordance with discipline specific designated practice act.
  • Perform services to patients under physician's orders.
  • Foster a constructive and supportive approach to department operations.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from a school accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) required.
  • Passed the National Occupational Therapy Exam approved by the Occupational Therapy Examining Committee of the State Board of Medical Quality Assurance required.
  • Minimum one year of recent experience in an acute care or rehabilitation facility preferred.
