Role Summary:
As an Entry-Level Technical Director, you will be instrumental in managing the technical elements of our news broadcasts. Comprehensive training will be provided to equip you with the necessary skills to oversee live broadcasts, recorded segments, and special news events. This role is tailored for detail-oriented candidates with a strong interest in news production and a commitment to professional growth within the broadcasting industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the technical execution of live and recorded news broadcasts, including video switching, audio management, graphics integration, and video playback.
- Collaborate closely with producers and directors to comprehend and implement broadcast strategies.
- Learn to operate essential broadcast equipment, such as switchers, audio consoles, servers, and other technical systems.
- Support the identification and resolution of technical challenges during broadcasts.
- Engage in training sessions and on-the-job learning to enhance your technical expertise.
- Work alongside technical and production teams to ensure seamless broadcast operations.
- Help maintain broadcast equipment and systems under the supervision of experienced staff.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and contribute to upholding high broadcast quality standards.
- Assist in the preparation and setup of live broadcasts and recorded segments.
Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of video and audio production, gained through education, internships, or relevant experience.
- Strong enthusiasm for news production and broadcast technology.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving technologies and workflows.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and manage time efficiently.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a dedication to producing high-quality results.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
- Clear driving record, car insurance, and successful completion of pre-employment screenings.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with software such as Photoshop, Premiere, or After Effects is advantageous.
