Role Summary:

As an Entry-Level Technical Director, you will be instrumental in managing the technical elements of our news broadcasts. This role is tailored for detail-oriented candidates with a strong interest in news production and a commitment to professional growth within the broadcasting industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the technical execution of live and recorded news broadcasts, including video switching, audio management, graphics integration, and video playback.
  • Collaborate closely with producers and directors to comprehend and implement broadcast strategies.
  • Learn to operate essential broadcast equipment, such as switchers, audio consoles, servers, and other technical systems.
  • Support the identification and resolution of technical challenges during broadcasts.
  • Engage in training sessions and on-the-job learning to enhance your technical expertise.
  • Work alongside technical and production teams to ensure seamless broadcast operations.
  • Help maintain broadcast equipment and systems under the supervision of experienced staff.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures and contribute to upholding high broadcast quality standards.
  • Assist in the preparation and setup of live broadcasts and recorded segments.

Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of video and audio production, gained through education, internships, or relevant experience.
  • Strong enthusiasm for news production and broadcast technology.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving technologies and workflows.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and manage time efficiently.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a dedication to producing high-quality results.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Clear driving record, car insurance, and successful completion of pre-employment screenings.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with software such as Photoshop, Premiere, or After Effects is advantageous.
