About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team at Actalent. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a critical role in providing sedation and anesthesia services in the perioperative, operative, and post-operative settings for the care of lab animals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide sedation and anesthesia services for lab animals, including non-human primates
  • Assist in surgical procedures, including preparation and assistance
  • Administer and monitor anesthesia, as well as mechanical ventilation and CPR
  • Maintain clinical animal records and complete monitoring forms
  • Assist investigators in research protocols, including treatments, sample collection, and routine sedation
  • Perform post-operative monitoring, palliative care, and documentation for research procedures
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in veterinary technology or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician, preferably in a research setting
  • Strong knowledge of anesthesia administration and monitoring, as well as surgical preparation and assistance
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
