Responsibilities:

DePaul's Jarvis College of Computing & Digital Media (CDM) is situated in a vibrant urban environment. CDM students hail from diverse backgrounds and cultures, thus the college is committed to recruiting and retaining a diverse faculty. Part-time teaching positions are available throughout the academic year, including summer sessions. Academic course schedules may vary each quarter, and the college will collaborate with selected individuals to establish a quarterly schedule. While courses are not guaranteed, the college strives to provide ample notice regarding available courses. Applicants whose expertise aligns with course scheduling needs will be contacted for an interview.

The School of Computing (SoC) offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs including Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Game Programming, Health Informatics, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Systems, Information Technology, Intelligent Systems Engineering, Network Engineering and Security, and Software Engineering. Required Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications include a master's degree in the relevant discipline, or 18 semester/27 quarter hours of graduate coursework in the discipline, or an undergraduate degree accompanied by a minimum of five years of demonstrated relevant professional experience. Exceptions may be made with the dean's approval.

The candidate must have proven experience in teaching within a diverse learning environment.

The Bachelor of Science degree in Game Programming equips students with fundamental programming skills while emphasizing the interdisciplinary nature of game development. Gameplay programmers leverage their technical understanding of game mechanics to create engaging experiences for players. Throughout the program, students collaborate in interdisciplinary teams with programmers, artists, game designers, producers, writers, and audio designers. Areas of study encompass level design, game scripting, computer graphics development, tool creation, game physics, and artificial intelligence programming.

The Master of Science degree in Game Programming is tailored for those seeking advanced knowledge in game programming, including real-time computing, computer graphics, and professionals transitioning into the game industry. Students delve into software engineering, computer graphics, artificial intelligence, animation, software architecture, and networking. The game programming curriculum addresses industry needs through specialized, topic-based classes. Courses blend theoretical knowledge with practical application, ensuring the content remains relevant and current. This combination of approaches enables students to grasp the connection between applied systems and the challenges they may encounter in their future careers.
