Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Warfare Systems Engineer to join our team at the Georgia Tech Research Institute. As a key member of our Test Engineering Division, you will be responsible for researching and developing advanced Electronic Warfare (EW) and Radar Systems.

Your primary focus will be on designing and testing EW and Avionics Systems, with a focus on developing Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) test systems. These systems provide high-fidelity simulation and stimulation of real-time Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR), Radio Frequency (RF) and avionics environments for testing aircraft systems.

You will work closely with our team to develop innovative methods and systems for creating dense, complex RF threat environments for EW HITL test systems. Additionally, you will lead technical teams in the development and integration of RF threat environments, development of innovative RF signal capture, and recording/analysis with EW HITL systems and environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed RF subsystem and system design studies, testing plans, and analysis of requirements into detailed performance design criteria.
  • Design and build templates to assist SMEs in providing critical system information.
  • Conduct product or system design synthesis translating requirements into physical architectures for RF subsystems and systems of moderate complexity.
  • Analyze RF subsystem and system functionality as defined by requirements.
  • Define/refine internal and external interfaces for RF subsystems and systems.
  • Develop technical reports and diagrams detailing design description or performance as defined by requirements.

Requirements:

  • Experience with Electronic Warfare and RF systems.
  • Experience with RF analog and digital signal analysis.
  • Experience leading technical teams.
  • Active Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with radar signal simulation.
  • Experience with Electronic Warfare Integrated Reprogramming (EWIR) database.
  • Experience with EW Test and Evaluation in a lab environment.
  • Experience with digital signal processing.
  • Experience in RWR and/or EA system design, operation, and T&E.
  • Experience in RF Environment modelling and simulation.

Travel Requirements: 10% - 25%

Education and Length of Experience: Levels 3, 4, 5

This position vacancy is an open-rank announcement. The final job offer will be dependent on candidate qualifications in alignment with Research Faculty Extension Professional ranks as outlined in section 3.2 of the Georgia Tech Faculty Handbook.
