Job Summary

The University of Vermont is seeking a full-time faculty member at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level on the clinical scholar pathway to expand substance abuse treatment and training at the University of Vermont.

Key Responsibilities
  • Join an existing team of licensed alcohol and drug counselors, nurses, and psychiatrists to treat an array of substance use disorders in programs ranging from intensive outpatient care to maintenance group therapy.
  • Lead an interdisciplinary team of nursing, LDAC, and peer recovery specialists to assist primary care clinics utilize best practices for substance use treatment.
  • Provide direct patient care, collaborate with other professional disciplines, and work with referring agencies and providers.
  • Supervise and teach house officers, medical students, and other staff.
Requirements
  • Medical degree, eligible for a Vermont medical license, and board certified/eligible in psychiatry.
  • Fellowship training and experience in inpatient settings is very desirable.
  • Formal addiction training or suitable experience is very desirable.
