Job Summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Systems Inspector to join our team. As a Fire Alarm Systems Inspector, you will be responsible for leading comprehensive inspections and advanced testing of fire alarm systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with NFPA 72 and local standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Inspections and Testing: Conduct thorough inspections and advanced testing of fire alarm systems to identify any malfunctions or deficiencies.
  • Test and Troubleshoot: Test and troubleshoot initiating devices, notification appliances, and system components to ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Inspect Interconnected Systems: Conduct inspections and testing of interconnected systems, including elevators, HVAC shutdown, fire doors, tampers, flows, smoke control systems, and VESDA systems.
  • Document Service Activities: Document all service activities, including inspection results and repairs, and complete testing reports with noted deficiencies.
  • Communicate with Customers: Communicate system performance and deficiencies to customers and account managers for accurate quoting of recommended repairs.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Trends: Stay informed about industry trends, technology advancements, and regulatory changes to uphold compliance and industry standards.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Minimum of high school degree and three years of related experience or two years technology degree and one-year related experience.
  • Certifications: NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level II or NICET Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems II or pass NICET II exam within 90 days of employment.
  • Additional Requirements: Ability to obtain US Clearance, minimum DoD Secret Clearance, and position is subject to an additional customer background check.
Physical Requirements
  • Lifting and Climbing: Lift at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period, and work at various heights up to 60 feet and climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
  • Physical Abilities: Walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
