Job Summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Materials Transporter to join our team. As a Materials Transporter, you will be responsible for transporting materials and equipment from our warehouse to various departments throughout the hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver non-stock receipts from the receiving dock staging area to designated routes as assigned.
  • Combine routes and customer orders from staging areas of the warehouse and Central Distribution.
  • Assure packing slips are attached to items and deliver orders, obtaining proper signatures and noting exceptions and returns.
  • Utilize a handheld device to enter delivery transactions in the delivery log and report exceptions to Materials Management Coordinator and/or Central Distribution Manager.
  • Assist receivers in unloading trucks, checking in packages, and attaching computer-generated packing slips to packages.
  • Hand load rewrap or stack freight as necessary.
  • Transport restock bulk inventory continuously from the receiving dock or warehouse to the breakdown area.
  • Move inventory to warehouse stock locations via pallet jack or cart, separating inventory cases into units of issue and staging in appropriate receptacles or vehicles.
  • Transport dry ice to research lab locations and fill ice chests.
  • Respond to emergency and rush deliveries as assigned and document transactions.
  • Maintain files and documentation in the department.
  • Perform daily housekeeping duties established by department policy.
Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Ability to understand general written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to communicate with customers in a clear and polite manner.
  • Previous experience desirable.
