Role Overview: As a Staff Application Security Engineer, you will play a pivotal role within the Information Security team, championing the security initiatives that protect our software and information systems. Key Responsibilities:

  • This position offers the flexibility to work remotely, with occasional travel to the corporate office as necessary.
  • Lead the development of a robust security framework that aligns with various Software Development Lifecycles (SDLCs), ensuring that all software is devoid of security flaws.
  • Enhance and refine our security policies and alerting systems within our security infrastructure.
  • Conduct threat modeling, architectural risk assessments, design evaluations, code reviews, and security testing for applications.
  • Provide strategic guidance on addressing potential vulnerabilities identified through the application security program, leveraging your understanding of the application context and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to guarantee that our technology is free from security defects.
  • Generate comprehensive documentation, knowledge base articles, and diagrams related to security technologies and their data flows.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience specializing in Application Security Engineering.
  • Proficient in threat modeling, design reviews, and secure code assessments.
  • Familiarity with a diverse range of security technologies, including SIEM, CASB, SOAR, DLP, and EDR.
  • Strong knowledge of software composition analysis and the creation of Software Bill of Materials (SBOMs).
  • Experience with OWASP and SAST/DAST tools.
  • Expertise in CI/CD pipelines and the integration of security within the development process (DevSecOps).
  • Understanding of cloud platforms and security practices.
  • Experience with automated software and security testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of container security, particularly with Docker and Kubernetes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with programming languages such as C#, .NET, or Java.
  • Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CSSLP, OSCP).
  • Background in the Financial Services sector.
  • Familiarity with software assurance maturity models.
  • Experience in developing and training on threat models using STRIDE.
  • Knowledge of ASPM or RASP tools.
  • Mobile application testing experience.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards such as PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, SOX, and NYDFS.

Compensation: The targeted total compensation for this role ranges from $125,000 to $205,000, which includes a competitive base salary, equity, and an annual variable compensation package.
