About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Dance Instructor to join our team at the YMCA of South Florida. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual who enjoys working with children to lead dance practices, develop lesson plans, and promote the Y's Dance program throughout the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging dance practices for youth participants, promoting physical activity and creativity.
- Develop and deliver high-quality lesson plans, preparing the dance team for performances and events.
- Track participant attendance and progress, ensuring a positive and inclusive environment.
- Partner with the Program Director to coordinate and promote the Dance program, fostering strong relationships with community partners.
- Recruit and train volunteers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful program execution.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to YMCA policies and procedures.
Requirements
- A minimum of 1-2 years' formal Dance or Cheerleading programming experience.
- Supervisory experience preferred, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bilingual ability (English and Spanish or English and Creole) a plus.
- First Aid/CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
- A passion for teaching dance/cheerleading and working with children.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- A commitment to upholding YMCA values: honesty, respect, caring, and responsibility.
