Job SummaryThe ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience and be able to stand and walk for long periods of time. You will be responsible for conducting patient assessments, prioritizing data collection, and performing ongoing assessments and treatments as ordered by a physician.
Responsibilities- Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
- Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
- Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
- Prepare equipment and aid the physician during examination and treatment of patients.
- Educate patients on surgical procedures.
- Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by the physician.
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- 3 years of experience
- Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment
Please note that this is a travel nurse position, and you will be required to work in a fast-paced environment treating patients who may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative.
