Job Title: UI Benefits Technician

Join the State of Washington's Employment Security Department as a UI Benefits Technician and play a critical role in providing excellent customer service to individuals navigating the Unemployment Insurance (UI) claims process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely and accurate assistance to claimants regarding UI benefits, claims, and related issues.
  • Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and engage with claimants through various channels to resolve their inquiries and concerns.
  • Process and resolve complex claims, including determining eligibility, calculating benefits, and resolving disputes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as claims examiners and benefits specialists, to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Stay up-to-date with UI laws, regulations, and policies to provide accurate information to claimants.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of customer service experience, preferably in a claims or benefits-related role.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and ability to learn new software applications.
