Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our healthcare team in a correctional setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care to inmates, including administering medications, performing venipuncture, and collecting samples.
  • Assist with histories and physicals, as well as assess patient health status and refer to appropriate healthcare providers.
  • Implement and follow up on physician orders, including documenting all nursing care provided.
  • Teach healthcare information to patients and correctional staff, adhering to safety and security policies.
  • Participate in disaster drills and follow security regulations for keys, sharps, and controlled medications.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Licensed Practical Nursing program and currently licensed as a Practical Vocational Nurse in the state.
  • Good physical health and ability to function in a stressful environment.
  • Ability to relate well to patients, security staff, and healthcare team members.
