Seeking Exceptional Researchers for Tenure-Track Positions

The Charles Stewart Mott Department of Public Health at Michigan State University invites applications for multiple tenure-track research positions in the areas of implementation science, health equity, and policy research. We seek exceptional mid-to-advanced career investigators with innovative research portfolios focused on addressing the needs of underserved communities.

About the Department

The Department is committed to building on strong and energetic growth in research, with a focus on community-partnered departmental administration. Our faculty have obtained over $175 million in extramural funding, and we are currently working on projects such as two NIH-funded Centers and a city-wide unconditional and universal cash prescription program for pregnant/postpartum people and infants.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct high-impact, community-partnered research in implementation science, health equity, and policy research
  • Develop and lead research teams to address the needs of underserved communities
  • Collaborate with community members and faculty to identify research priorities and develop research proposals
  • Secure external funding to support research projects
Requirements
  • PhD or equivalent in a field related to public health
  • Established investigator-initiated research program and a record of NIH or related federal funding
  • Postdoctoral training or experience, a K-award, and/or other evidence of preparation to become an R01-level principal investigator
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in implementation science, health equity, and policy research
  • Strong track record of securing external funding
  • Ability to collaborate with community members and faculty to identify research priorities and develop research proposals
