Position Overview:

The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in delivering professional nursing care throughout the wellness-illness spectrum, ensuring the comfort and health of retired Sisters, as well as those experiencing acute, chronic, or terminal illnesses.

The RN is expected to apply their expertise in infection control, safety protocols, body mechanics, and effective communication skills while providing or overseeing care.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care tailored to the needs of each individual.
  • Utilize strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with Sisters, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of medical records, physician orders, and nursing care plans.
  • Implement best practices in infection control and safety.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of psychotropic medications and geriatric care.

Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in gerontology preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • Current RN licensure issued by the Board of Nurse Examiners in the State of Texas.
