Probation Director

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Probation Director to lead our Probation Department in Contra Costa County. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the supervision, planning, and organization of Probation Managers, as well as overseeing the organization and planning of field services, administrative services, or juvenile institutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage Probation Managers to ensure effective delivery of probation services
• Oversee the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and regulations for the Probation Department
• Provide direction, supervision, and training to field or institution staff
• Make decisions regarding day-to-day operations, develop policies and programs, and implement operational procedures for Juvenile Institutions, Administrative, and Field Services

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in criminology, corrections, social work, psychology, sociology, or a closely related field
• Five years of full-time or its equivalent experience in probation or institution work in a California County Probation Department, with two years of management experience equivalent to the classification of Probation Manager in Contra Costa County
• Valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License
