About the Position

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeper (Nights) to join our team at George Mason University. As a Housekeeper (Nights), you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our campus facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Clean common areas, including auditoriums, multipurpose rooms, classrooms, hallways, and stairwells
  • Move and spot clean furniture, shampoo carpets, strip, wax, and buff floors
  • Clean offices and classrooms, including desks, furniture, dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning window ledges, window glass, and doors
  • Clean and restock bathrooms and remove trash daily
  • Communicate with the Lead Housekeeper regarding cleaning supplies and maintain a positive working relationship with department members and the campus community
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • General knowledge of cleaning terms and safety procedures related to hazardous cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to read, understand, and abide by all safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to read and follow cleaning instructions and schedules
  • Ability to practice effective oral communication skills with students, faculty, and staff
