SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for upholding the highest standards of care in speech-language pathology services while ensuring adherence to all contractual obligations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluate the patient's home setting as necessary.
  • Diagnose speech disorders and develop tailored treatment plans to improve patient outcomes.
  • Implement innovative therapy programs utilizing state-of-the-art techniques and equipment.
  • Recommend appropriate communication aids or devices when needed.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to provide integrated care.
  • Participate in case discussions and team meetings to foster a unified approach to patient care.
  • Maintain precise documentation in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments in speech-language pathology.
  • Address the needs of patients and families for additional services and facilitate referrals as required.
  • Educate patients, their families, and healthcare staff regarding treatment strategies.
  • Supervise home health aides in executing therapy-related tasks.
  • Perform other relevant duties to support speech-language pathology services.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION

1. Possesses a master's or doctoral degree in speech-language pathology (SLP) and meets one of the following criteria:

  • Holds a valid license as a speech-language pathologist in the relevant state.
  • Completed 350 hours of supervised clinical practicum, along with a minimum of 9 months of supervised full-time SLP services post-degree, and successfully passed a national SLP examination.

2. At least one year of clinical experience in Speech-Language Pathology.

3. Exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills along with strong organizational capabilities.

4. Holds current CPR certification.

5. Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable, insured vehicle that meets state and organizational standards.
