Job Summary

University Health Services (UHS) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Primary Care team. This role provides direct patient care, telephone triage, and patient education to the students of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The successful candidate will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop treatment plans, complete assessments, delegate, and provide necessary patient care. This position offers an opportunity for remote work after successful onboarding.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care to patients through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation to ensure physical and mental well-being.
  • Evaluate current care plans, complete assessments, develop specialized treatment plans, document medical activity, and analyze patient data and results to help diagnose and treat illnesses and diseases.
  • Educate patients and their support systems on how to manage conditions and promote the health and well-being of patients and those around them.
  • Participate in medical research as needed in collaboration with medical professionals and internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or RN license issued by Compact State.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI) eligibility.

Preferred:

  • 3 years experience as a registered nurse in an ambulatory clinic setting.
  • Experience working under nurse protocols and patient education.
  • Technical skills such as: injections, IV, triage, and wound care.
