Position: IFT-R Flight Instructor
Employment Type: Full-time
Navigator Development Group Inc is seeking qualified candidates for the role of a rotary wing flight instructor. This position involves training new student pilots participating in the Introductory Flight Training - Rotary (IFT-R) program under the United States Air Force Air Education and Training Command.
Qualifications and Educational BackgroundTo be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Possess an FAA Certificated Commercial Pilot license for Helicopter, including an Instrument Helicopter rating.
- Hold a current FAA Certificated Flight Instructor Helicopter license with an Instrument Helicopter instructor rating, or be a graduate of a formal Rotary Wing Instructor Pilot training program recognized by the US Department of Defense.
- Prior experience as a Helicopter Instructor Pilot within the US Air Force is preferred.
- Minimum of 500 hours of turbine helicopter flight time, including 100 hours of instrument flight time and 75 hours of night flying.
- At least 500 hours of Flight Instructor time, with experience in primary flight training environments, adhering to FAA regulations.
- Experience instructing students in instrument flight training is essential.
- Must maintain a current FAA Class 2 medical certificate.
- Willingness to work overtime and flexible shifts as required.
- Demonstrated self-motivation and ability to work independently.
The role demands the following physical capabilities:
- Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds overhead.
- Capability to navigate stairs and ladders to access simulators or aircraft cockpits.
- Physical agility to stoop, bend, and crawl as necessary.
- Ability to detect sounds and odors to identify potential issues with simulators and their environments.
- Color vision is necessary for operational tasks.
