Job Title: Assistant FSQA Manager

At Ajinomoto Foods North America, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant FSQA Manager to join our team. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the quality and safety of our products, while also driving compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Senior Manager, FSQA in leading the Quality Assurance and Food Safety team at our Oakland facility.
  • Partner with the Senior Manager to evaluate and create employee development plans, ensuring that team members have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
  • Evaluate and implement audit-ready procedures for the facility, ensuring that we are always prepared for external audits and inspections.
  • Manage laboratory operations, ensuring that all testing and analysis is conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement quality, food safety, and sanitation parameters for our products and facilities, ensuring that we meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that all aspects of our business are aligned with our quality and safety goals.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive Quality Control/Quality Assurance experience in a USDA food manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • BS degree in Food Science, Meat Science, Microbiology, Biology, or other science-related field.
  • Certifications through ASQC, SQF, GFSI, and other professional quality associations are preferred.
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal) is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently conduct complex technical analysis and make recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize multiple projects with simultaneous deadlines.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

The Assistant FSQA Manager will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet and humid conditions, and extreme temperatures. The ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds is required.
