About the Role:

Solar Technician at Spark Power

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Solar Technician to join our team at Spark Power. As a Solar Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing utility-scale solar and battery storage facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine safety documentation before every job, including tailgate meetings and electrical work permits.
  • Conduct technical troubleshooting and preventative maintenance activities to maximize performance and production.
  • Energize and de-energize procedures, following LOTO plans and procedures.
  • Interpret schematics and blueprints, and perform quality assurance checklists and inspections.
  • Document deficiencies and identify corrective actions needed, following OEM specific maintenance requirements.
  • Provide daily digital reporting and documentation of all work performed.
  • Work in a team-based environment and independently as necessary.
  • Participate in on-call weekend services on a rotating schedule.
  • Identify and provide feedback on issues and ongoing development of projects.
  • Willing to work overtime as needed.
  • Keep sites looking clean and safe, including buildings, vegetation, fences, gates, roads, etc.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Post-secondary education with an electrical or mechanical base is an asset.
  • State certified Journeyman license is an asset.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) is an asset.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 75lb.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.
  • Digital literacy, including proficiency with mobile apps and various software.
  • Electrical and mechanical aptitude and experience.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with a team mentality and liaise with customers to ensure quality of service.
  • Work in adverse weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
