Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Histology Technician to join our team at Cynet Health. As a Histology Technician, you will be responsible for integrating knowledge, theory, and practice to properly execute procedures in assigned areas of Pathology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain competence in all routine histology procedures, including embedding, sectioning, and automated staining.
  • Perform advanced histology procedures such as immunohistochemistry and histochemical staining.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, slide/stain quality control, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Receive, prepare, archive, and retrieve specimen/materials.
  • Prepare and stock department supplies and reagents, performing quality assurance tasks.
  • Produce high-quality frozen sections and conduct training for routine histology practices.
  • Orient and embed various tissue types according to procedures and special instructions.
  • Prepare high-quality tissue sections using automated or manual microtomes.
  • Perform automated routine staining, using appropriate control slides.
  • Perform manual and automated special staining following laboratory procedures.
  • Maintain equipment and facilities as per policies and procedures.
  • Review slides and stains as part of quality control, verifying staining performance.
  • Receive, verify acceptability, and accession specimens accordingly.
  • Process specimens for testing, interpretation, and submission to other laboratories.
  • Perform accurate data entry throughout testing, interpretation, and reporting.
  • Follow department policies regarding positive patient identification.
  • Prepare, maintain, and stock supplies and reagents as needed.
  • Complete quality assurance tasks effectively.
