Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team at UNC Health Care Systems. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the well-being of our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers with examinations and procedures, as well as procurement of equipment and supplies during emergency situations.
- In psychiatric settings, aid patients in reality orientation, participate in behavior modification plans/therapy, provide informal support therapy to patients/families, and facilitate age-appropriate activities for children.
- Observe, collect, and document patient information while providing care and report significant changes in the patient's condition to registered nurses or physicians.
- Provide assistance to patients and their families during admission, orientation, and discharge from the clinical area.
Requirements:
- Completion of an approved Nurse Assistant I course approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Current listing with the NC Division of Health & Human Service Regulation Health Care Personnel.
- Current NC Driver's License and meets insurance requirements to drive hospital-owned vehicles.
- Current BCLS certification.
- CPI certification required within 90 days of starting on the unit.
