Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at U Mass Memorial Health. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing X-ray examinations and fluoroscopic procedures to produce high-quality images of patient organs and body areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure patient and staff safety.
  • Take thorough and accurate patient medical histories.
  • Clearly explain procedures to patients and ensure their safety and comfort during scans.
  • Position and immobilize patients on examining tables and ensure quality diagnostic images are produced.
  • Operate or position imaging equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and reactions, reporting abnormal signs to physicians.
  • Review and evaluate images or computer-generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
  • Record, process, and maintain patient data, documents, and treatment records.
  • Collaborate with medical teams and administrative staff members to conduct special procedures or complete administrative duties.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited radiological technology program.
  • Registered by the ARRT or registry eligible.
  • Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Public Health: Radiation Control Program.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of anatomy, patient positioning, examination techniques, equipment protocols, radiation safety, radiation protection, and basic patient care.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English with patients to explain procedures while making them as comfortable as possible.
  • Ability to follow and comply with procedures, policies, and regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaborate with medical staff, personnel, students, and patients.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a Radiological Technologist.
Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions

Work is considered sedentary. Position requires work indoors in a normal office environment.
