Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our inpatient and outpatient rehab team at Memorial Hermann Health System's Woodlands Hospital. This is a supplemental position, requiring a minimum of 2 weekend days (Saturdays and/or Sundays) and 2 weekdays per 6-week period. The hours are 8:00am - 4:30pm.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patients, develop, and initiate treatment plans based on evaluation results.
  • Document findings, progress, and provide instruction to patients and caregivers.
  • Provide recommendations and assist physical therapists and management teams with program development.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor, overseeing the development, guidance, and training of assistants, students, interns, and rehabilitation technicians.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or graduate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited university-based Physical Therapy program.
  • Current license to practice Physical Therapy by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners or the Physical Therapy Compact Commission.
  • Current Certification in Basic Life Support.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One (1) year of experience.
  • Demonstrates ability and willingness to mentor/train staff or supervise clinical interns/students.
  • Provides clinical leadership and demonstrates increasing expertise for a particular patient type/group or enhances an existing clinical program for that particular patient type/group.
Working Conditions

The position requires occasional/frequent lifting of up to 75/100 pounds and carrying of up to 30 pounds; prolonged standing; frequent walking, stooping, and squatting.

Fine hand dexterity, eye-hand coordination, the ability to receive oral and written communication, and to communicate verbally and in writing are also necessary.

The visual ability to monitor instruments, computers, and equipment, recognize alphanumeric characters, distinguish colors, and observe physical characteristics are essential to this position.

Ability to commit to elected commitment schedule, with flexibility in scheduling and in moving within patient care areas when necessary.
